As a degreed healthcare professional,
it is the Licensee's Responsibility to Renew Your License
On-Time to avoid penalties/consequences
for failure to timely renew.
Your Texas Podiatry License is Your
Responsibility and No-One Else's ! We encourage all
licensees to renew On-Line and to continually update your
Physician Profile.
♦
All licenses expire Annually on November 1st.
Failure to renew your license on-time will result in
delays/consequences which is the licensee's
responsibility and all licensees are afforded an ample
opportunity to renew their license on-time beginning on
September 1 of each year. Aside from the annual renewal notice
(the yellow postcards), the annual renewal certificate cites the
annual license expiration date of November 1st.
Licenses not renewed by this deadline are subject to all
administrative and criminal penalties of "Practicing Without A
License."
- Note:
On the
annual Yellow
License Renewal Notice Postcard
we recommend that licensees renew their licenses
by mid-October each year to avoid processing
delays and to ensure timely verification for
insurance/surgical/facility/hospital/treatment/etc.
privileges/purposes. The longer one waits to
renew and as the annual November 1st deadline
approaches, the greater likelihood of adverse
consequences for failure to timely renew.
Renewal notices (the yellow postcards) are
mailed at the beginning of September of each
year to your last known address of record.
- Note:
Licensees have a 2-month opportunity to renew
their License beginning on September 1st each
year.
- Note:
Licensees can verify the status of their
final/completed License Renewal
HERE.
- Note:
As of September 1, 2008,
TexasOnline.com began a new process where
licensees are allowed three (3) login attempts.
If you are unsuccessful after the third (3rd)
attempt, you will be locked out of the system
for 24 hours. You can only login after the 24
hour period has expired.
- Note:
There is an approximate 5-minute
"time-out" period for inactivity. Should you not
fully complete the process once started and
leave the system dormant, your session will
expire after 5-minutes at which point you will
have to start over.
- Note:
If your license number only has three (3)
digits, you must
enter a leading zero ("0") in order to have a
successful "4-digit" login.
- Note:
Please
click on the highlighted links to obtain
"National Provider Identifier" (NPI)
information or to search the
"NPI Registry."
- Note:

until full/complete/valid payment is submitted.

or you can check the status of your renewal by clicking on the

♦ We appreciate your attention to
these considerations and your cooperation to renew your license
ON-TIME! The sooner you renew your license, the sooner

► "Active"
(Regular) License Status Renewals:
Once "Step 1 - Update Your DPM Physician Profile"
is completed, then proceed to "Step 2 - Renew Your Texas
DPM License." You are submitting information to two (2)
separate "TexasOnline.com" databases which exist under separate
authority of law. Therefore, you will experience some redundancy
of entries.
Be sure to
"PRINT RECEIPT" at the end of
"Step 2 - Renew Your Texas DPM License." License
Renewals (i.e. "Step 2") will
not be complete until the
Board receives verification of payment through the Texas
Comptroller of Public Accounts
and the annual registration
number has been issued by the Board.
License Renewals initiated on a non-business day (i.e. holiday,
weekend or after 5:00 pm M-F) will not be processed until the
next business day. Be advised, final payment verification of
funds through the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts can take
up to 24-72 hours (minimum) to process during business days.
Accounts/credit cards with insufficient funds will be possibly
rejected or will take longer than 72 hours to process dependent
upon the availability of funds.
Again,
although the on-line License Renewal process is
initiated, a License is
not considered officially
"Renewed" (for the present Fiscal Year) until final payment
verification of funds through the Texas Comptroller of Public
Accounts (24-72 hour timeframe after next business day of
application) has been completed and
the annual registration number has been issued by the Board.
Please be patient ... this entire process from start to
finish will take approximately 10 minutes of your time.
STEP 1 - UPDATE YOUR DPM PHYSICIAN PROFILE
[Profiles need to be updated every year upon renewal. You may
also update your profile at any other time after renewals when
changes occur. This is self-reported licensee/office/practice
information to the "Texas OnLine Occupational Profiling System"
(TOPS; TexasOnline.com). The TOPS system allows the public to
view additional information about you and is essentially a free
advertising service for licensees.]
STEP 2 - RENEW YOUR TEXAS DPM LICENSE
[In order to fully complete
"Step 2 - Renew Your Texas DPM License,"
you will be prompted to
RE-ENTER
previous TOPS information from

MUST answer all questions
each time you renew. If you answer with "Same As Last Year" or

NOT be processed until the correct
responses are received by our office.
You can pay by credit card or electronic check. If you do not
have access to a computer and/or the internet, most local
libraries have them available for public use.]

►
"Inactive/Retired"
License Status Renewals:
Construed in accordance
with Texas Occupations Code §202.264 and Board Rule §378.11, a
licensee may place a license on "Inactive Status" by applying
for "Inactive Status" on a form prescribed by the Board before
the date of the expiration of the license and by complying with
all license renewal requirements other than the continuing
education requirements.
This "Inactive Status" also allows a licensee to designate
his/her "Inactive Status" as being "Retired." If choosing the
"Retired" designation, the licensee must also clearly indicate
in writing to the Board this "Retired" designation and is
otherwise subject to all "Inactive Status" provisions contained
in Board Rule §378.11.
Be advised, a holder of a license that is on "Inactive Status"
may NOT practice podiatric medicine in this state. The practice
of podiatric medicine by a holder of a license that is on
"Inactive Status" constitutes the practice of podiatric medicine
without a license (criminal penalty). A licensee may remain on
"Inactive Status" for four (4) years and is subject to
additional regulations in order to return to "Active Status."
In order to apply for "Inactive Status":

Subject to certain limitations, a licensee in a “Delinquent”
status is not fully prohibited from practicing during a 30-day
grace period from November 1st - December 1st.
If any entity providing the licensee clinical privileges wishes
to restrict a licensee in a “Delinquent” status, for liability
reasons, they may do so. Beginning on
December 1st of each year, the Board will enforce
practicing without a license penalties to include the issuance
of "Cease & Desist Notices or Orders." There will NO longer be a
one year grace period. However, "Delinquent" license holders
will have one year to renew their license with PENALTY FEES from
November 1st before their license is "Cancelled."
[Posted 09/09/2007 @ 5:00 pm]
Again, a licensee can be in a “Delinquent” status for one
year from the time of the renewal period (deadline is November 1st
of each year) expiration, accruing penalty fees.
[Posted 09/09/2007 @ 5:00 pm]
All "Delinquent" licenses are nevertheless subject to all
administrative/criminal penalties of "Practicing Without A
License." Any licensee in a "Delinquent" status shall not
practice Podiatric Medicine after December 1st;
criminal act pursuant to Texas Occupations Code §202.605.
[Posted 09/09/2007 @ 5:00 pm]
If a person's "Delinquent" license has been expired for one
year or longer, the person may not renew the license. For
purposes of public verification, the license is then considered
to have been "Cancelled." [Posted
09/09/2007 @ 5:00 pm]
Any licensee in a "Cancelled" status shall not practice
Podiatric Medicine; criminal act pursuant to Texas Occupations
Code §202.605. "Cancelled" licensees are required to fully
